A clear, transparent 2.255 ct Lightning Ridge crystal opal oval with pastel blue and green flash and warmer orange color along the edge and flank.
A still photograph shows one moment of its color display. The full muted original recording shows the opal moving through different angles, including quieter views. No color enhancement, relighting, cropping, speed change, or stabilization was applied to the video.
The exact-stone record
2.255 ct, confirmed by the scale photograph. Approximate dimensions are 10 × 7 × 4 mm (length × width × thickness), read from the metric caliper scales and rounded to whole millimeters. The record includes several face and oblique views, three caliper photographs, and the original rotation video. These photo-derived dimensions are not precision measurements; any setting should be fitted to the actual stone.
Small natural sand inclusions are present on the back. The cutter reports no other known condition issues. A suitable setting may cover the back inclusions, depending on its design.
Material and cutting history
Natural, solid, untreated Australian opal, cut from rough by The Opal Ledger. No laboratory report accompanies this stone.
This is one loose stone, supplied without a setting. The approved asking price is $695 USD, excluding tax and shipping. It is an asking price, not a certified appraisal or a guaranteed sale value.

Appreciate the softer display on its own terms
TOL-0011 is described through its pastel blue-green appearance and warmer edge, not through an exaggerated face-up red claim. The distinction matters: a gentler palette may be exactly what a buyer likes, but it should not be marketed as a different visual character simply because stronger adjectives sound more valuable.
Start with the whole oval. Look at the distribution of the softer color and the visible body appearance before moving to the orange flank. Then use the original video to see how those areas respond as the gem turns. Decide whether the balance feels right for your intended collection or design.
Do not rank it against another opal solely by weight or by the strongest frame in another clip. At 2.255 ct, the mass is a recorded identification detail. It does not establish face-up dimensions, saturation, or how the proposed mounting will present the gem.
The orange belongs to the edge-and-flank description
The warm color is strongest along the edge and flank in the supplied presentation. That provides an additional point of interest in movement, but it is not a continuous dominant face-up field. Keep that wording intact when describing the stone to a jeweler or recipient.
This is a clear, transparent crystal opal. Small natural sand inclusions remain on the back; the cutter reports no other known condition issues. A suitable setting may cover the back inclusions, depending on its design.
Purchase and cutting history
The Opal Ledger purchased the rough directly from Tikka Opals at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, then cut this stone from that material.
The Lightning Ridge attribution and declarations about material, construction, and treatment remain seller-reported. The Tucson event is where the purchase is reported to have occurred; it is not the source of an independent origin determination.
Plan a design conversation around the actual oval
If you are considering jewelry, show the receiving professional the exact TOL-0011 record, scale image, profiles, and condition notes. Ask how the proposed setting and orientation may affect the softer appearance you prefer. A stock oval mounting cannot be approved from the shape name alone.
The three analog caliper photographs support approximate 10 × 7 × 4 mm dimensions, rounded to whole millimeters. Ask for direct measurements and inspection before committing to fit. Carat weight cannot substitute for length, width, thickness, or a full assessment of the profile.
Separate the loose-stone asking price from the jewelry budget. This offer does not include metal, fabrication, setting, or a completed design. If the whole project matters to your choice, obtain the jeweler’s estimate before purchasing.
Is pastel a formal laboratory grade?
Here it is descriptive language for the shown appearance, not an independent grade. The complete record explains the evidence limitations.
Does the heavier weight make it larger than every other oval?
No such comparison is established by the scale. Compare actual verified dimensions and profiles rather than assuming a relationship from weight alone.
Where should I ask about an unclear view?
